Women carry children on their shoulders too

Yesterday after work we took the kids to Disneyland. The first thing I did (after hopping the train to Tommorrowland, where this rare moment of sibling happiness was captured) was take them on the newly refurbished Space Mountain. Because Joey scares easily at the idea of things but actually quite enjoys the adrenaline rush those same things bring, I was cautious not to use the words "roller coaster", "fast", or "scary" when describing the ride, opting instead to say only that it was based on a spaceship and going to space. After standing in line for almost an hour with Cameron being his truculent little self, we finally got to the front of the line and announced that there were 4 of us intent on boarding the ship. We were sent to lines 5 and 6, Joey and I together and the garrulous two in front of us. As we began our ascent to space. Those of you who are thinking how cruel I am for blindsiding my poor son right now, keep reading. After the ride started I tried to make sure that he wasn't overly traumatized by holding on to his hand or leg; I was quickly put in my place with a harsh yell of, "NO! Don't hold me! I AM FINE!" When we got off the ride my kids were all radiating joy; Joey said that was the best ride ever. Check out the pic. After that Chris got there and we went on the Haunted Mansion, previously Joey's favorite ride, then Pirates of the Carribean. We went to dinner at ESPN Zone, where Big and Rich were signing autographs, though I haven't any idea who the hell they are. The restaurant was very crowded, and not only did it take 30 min to seat us, but it took an additional half hour to get our food, as it was dropped the first time by the kitchen staff and had to be remade. Upside: we were joking with the waiter about it and weren't snippy so they gave us 35% off the bill.... honey people, is better than vinegar, in MOST cases. (says the queen bitch). By the time dinner was over it was after 8 and we headed back to Disney to wait for the fireworks. People, I have seldom seen a crowd the likes of this one. Just throngs of people crowding onto Main Street awaiting the 50th Anniversary Fireworks Celebration. So when at last the show commenced, Chris put Cameron on his shoulders and I placed Joey upon my own. Poor Vicky, being both too old and too heavy, (not to mention almost as tall as me) was left to fend for herself against the crowd of tourists and psychotic mothers closing in on us. The fireworks were amazing, replete with columns of fire and tinkerbell flying above the castle. In the middle of the show the man next to me turns and says, "Women don't carry kids on their shoulders!", and shakes his head slightly as he chuckles to himself, as if to say, "Stupid little girl." Well, this one does. So there.

disneyland

last night i met heather and the kids at disneyland. the summer is coming to an end :( but the good thing is our annual passes are starting to work again!! it was super crowded even for a monday, they went on a couple of rides before i got there, including the newly remodeled space mountain. joey LOVED space mountain, last time we were there i couldn't get him to even go on the matterhorn let alone space mountain. when i got there we all went on the haunted mansion and then over to pirates of the carribean.

we were starving so we left to go to downtown disney to eat at the rain forest cafe. the wait was about 1.5 hours so we opted for the slightly less crowded espn zone. after we got seated we waited and waited and waited for our food. after people that came in after us got their food our waiter finally showed up and say did you hear that big crash in the kitchen, well that was your food. great! finally we got our food, which wasn't very good, and headed back to disneyland. we wanted to make it back in time for the firework show.

we finally found what we thought was a good seat, and by the way the crowd fell in everybody thought it was a great idea. we sat for about 20 minutes when a guy who worked there, who had been standing there the entire time watching us all fill the area, came up and told us that these seats were not going to work. we would not be able to see anything but maybe a couple of fireworks because of the huge trees, great you couldn't have told us that 10 minutes ago?? so we got up and went looking for another area. oh wait i forgot the best part, while we were sitting there this lady, who didn't speak english (not that her speaking english has anything to do with this story) pulled up a chair and sat as close as humanly possible to me. not three seconds later she lifts her shirt pulls out her boob and starts feeding her 4 year old son. now, having 3 children, i am not opposed to breastfeeding in public but come on. have some manors, cover up a little bit and don't sit so damn close to me, i don't need to get wet! anyways so i throw cameron on my shoulders and joey on heathers and we find a somewhat good spot to see the most spectacular firework show ever! it was like it was the 4th of july. after the show the park closed and EVERYBODY headed for the tram. it must have taken us an hour to get to our car. what a night! here are some of the pics.

weekend coming to an end

well the weekend is finally coming to an end. yesterday was hellish, today has been a lot better. the kids were tolerable, for the most part. oh wait i spoke to early vicky and cameron just started fighting... today we had jason over to go swimming. i cooked up some hot dogs and hamburgers that were pretty damn good if i do say so myself. we are now settling into watching the mtv vma awards. we are tivoing the season finale of the 4400 which we have watched all summer, its been an awesome show. if the awards show is going to be anything like the preshow i think i would rather watch the 4400, the "live" performance that is on right now is REALLY bad.

kinda dreading work tomorrow, i need to upgrade our mail server that recently has been giving me problems. we finally got the new server in, so now i have the big task of moving all the mailboxes over to the new server. in theory it should be easy, but we all know how that goes especially when computers are involved. hopefully it won't turn into an all night thing again.

update: the vma's sucked so we switched over to the 4400. what an awesome show and of course, with any season finale, there is a cliffhanger. can't wait till the next season...

VMA'S

Watching the VMA pre show right now, and I must say that commercials lately are SO DAMN GAY. Who the fuck is thinking this shit up? "Snatch up some Missy". OMG. That said, back to the VMA'S. Why in the fuck are Kelly Clarkson and R Kelly performing and Gwen Stefani was snubbed??? Gwen has had an AMAZING year (B-A-N-A-N-A-S ya'll!) and yet these two freaks are on stage and she isn't? Ick. Now here's me being nice. I love Kanye West. He better frickin win. He is so cool. Really. Now I'm gonna go before I keep a running commentary that noone wants to hear.

This Sucks

I feel like I am 80 years old. No matter what I do or do not do, I am completely exhausted... Yesterday I had the absolute worst headache and I felt itchy and dizzy, so I went to lay down at 2:30. I woke up at 7:30 pm because Chris brought me some food. I ate, went back to bed for a couple of hours, woke up for an hour, and went back to bed until 9 this morning. I could have slept more, easily. Now I am not talking about "resting", where my eyes are shut but I am basically awake. I SLEPT, deep, dark, dreaming sleep. Today my goal is to stay awake. Friday night Chris took me out to dinner and a movie, which was awesome. We went to Downtown Disney, where we went to eat at Catal, which was very good but very expensive, and then we went to see The Brother's Grimm, which I quite enjoyed even if critics did not. (It earned only 1 star). Nothing new here, it is rare that "critics" and I agree.

normal saturday evening

you wouldn't think a day could be THAT bad. especially a saturday, i mean hell there was no work involved. well let me rephrase that, no work that i got paid to do. raising three kids is A LOT of work. especially raising the devil my kids. like i explained earlier, my kids do nothing but cry, scream, fight, yell, argue, talk back, complain, did i mention cry? all on a good day. today was not a good day. i should not have gotten out of bed today. i have been looking forward to saturday all week, well maybe it was next saturday i was looking forward too, this saturday was a very bad saturday. i know, how can saturday be bad??? well like i said from 8am this morning to 8:45pm tonight ALL of my kids have done absolutely nothing but cry, scream, fight, yell, argue, talk back, complain and did i mention cry?? i am at my wits end. i have finally sent them to bed, but do they go to bed?? NO!!! the boys are upstairs right now as we speak jumping off their bed and slamming into their mirrored closet doors. oh these kids are going to be the death of me, if i was lucky, but no i will not die i will just be tortured to the end but then be brought back to life to endure another day... yay for me.

loungin poolside

this morning we woke up and had to go to target to get some socks and some other misc things. when we got home we didn't really want to go anywhere and it is freakin hot outside so we decided to bbq and swim. BIG MISTAKE! i swear my kids are the loudest damn things ever! they can't do anything with out screaming at the top of their lungs. argh! its frustrating, never able to just sit back, relax and enjoy the summer... always listening to fighting or screaming!! oh well, they will be older soon and i am sure i will wish for these days again but until then, i am on my last nerve! there is not enough alcohol in the world for this :P uh-oh some more crying need to go figure out what is going on... for now enjoy the pictures, atleast those are quiet!! :)

the brothers grimm

last night heather and i went to downtown disney to go to dinner and a movie. we got there about 8 o'clock which gave us plenty of time to walk around and figure out where we wanted to eat. we finally decided on the catal restaurant which was actually pretty good and very pricy. after a couple of drinks we were ready to eat. heather had the rotisserie chicken and i the top sirloin.

after dinner we headed to the theatre to see the brothers grimm. the movie was, despite getting only one star, pretty entertaining. it was very slow at times and kinda scary at other times but all in all we both enjoyed it.

happy anniversary baby!

today we have been married for 8 years. wow that is a long time. 8 years ago i was a young, thought to be very mature, man. a lot has happened in those 8 years. some of the best and worst times in my life. the one constant thing has been heather's love for me. even at our most darkest hour when i thought all was lost heather never gave up. she has loved me through thick and thin and at times enough for the both of us. and for this babe, i thank you. thank you for never giving up and showing me that we could truely be happy. my life right now is amazing. i have never been so happy as i am today and i owe it all to you, my beautiful bride.

happy anniversary babe, we have a LOT of memories and i can't wait to make more with you as we continue to grow and become closer. everyday i can honestly say i love you more then the day before. we have a special relationship that can't compare to anything, our bond is very strong and can never be broken. when i wake up in the morning and see you laying next to me i know i am the luckiest person alive. while at work everyday i can't wait to get home to see you. you are an awesome mother and an amazing wife. i love you baby, happy anniversary.

in a slump

i sure have not been in the writing mood lately... lots going on, been really busy at work. last week our email server crashed, BAD... worked on it all day and all night till about 12:30am then slept for about 2 hours came into work and finally fixed it after about 20 hours of working on it.

weekend was VERY relaxing just hanging out with the family, sat we went to the block and had lunch at johnny rockets. afterwards we walked around and went to the vans skatepark where joey was enthralled with all the young skaters. sunday we went to gramma's for a bbq. jason's mom was in from texas for the week so we got to hang out with her as well, lots of fun.

this week is a busy one. i am working today but after that i am off the rest of the week. wed night heather, roxy, jared and i are going to the angel game. thursday is heather and i's 8 year wedding anniversary, not really doing much that day though just spending time together. friday night is john's graduation party. saturday we are going to see tiesto in concert!! in which we have VIP tix so it should be lots of fun! sunday and monday are going to be spent recouperating from the week.

i promise i will be writing a lot more in the next few weeks, after i get out of this slump. until then check out some of the latest pics i posted.

fotoconnection.com

i have just had the WORST experience i have ever had with an online retailer, fotoconnection.com. we have been looking for some older sony laptops, the model PCG-TR3AP1, in particular because of its very small size 10" monitor and weight 3 lbs. searching through froogle we finally found it at said fotoconnection.com if you look at this link you can see that they still have it, as of today 8/10/2005, in stock. thinking i hit the jackpot i ordered 2 of them. with in an hour i got a call from pete@fotoconnection.com letting me know he received the order but since it was more then $2,000 they needed me to fax in an authorization. wow, this is a little more difficult then i expected, i figured the days of having to fax orders in over web orders was long gone. but ok, i'll play along. i fax the order back and supposedly the computers are on its way.

a week later i get a huge box, cool i think, i carry this heavier then normal box upstairs and open it. to my dismay its the wrong computers. now, one would think that they would get something similar to my order but NO one would be wrong. these computers are TANKS! twice the size of the computers i order. i send my sells guy an email, pete@fotoconnection.com, no response. i call the customer service dept at 800-457-0889 and am put on hold for 27 minutes. finally i talk to danny who says "ok bottom line, is there anyway you will keep the computers?". um wtf??? these are not the right computers these are not the computers i ordered nor are they at all similar. he says ok let me put you on hold and talk to my manager. i ask him how long he says 15 minutes tops. i told him to call me back, with the assurance that he would call me back within the hour i hang up. 3 hours later still no call back, i call them. ask to speak to a manager, 10 minutes later i am told, by the lady that answered the call, there is no manager to talk to right now, can she help me. sure, i give her my order number and she says hold on and transfers me back to danny. apparently he just tried to call me but my phone was busy, hmmm, go figure.

finally after i talked to his "buyer" they have not had this computer for a long time and they have nothing similar to it but are in the process of updating the website so it is no longer there. wow, i say so you just send computers out in the hopes that the person will keep it? no answer, he says what do you want to do. i say i want my money back, so he transfers me back to danny. then i have to send in ANOTHER fax. fuck, i am not sure why they even have a web presence when all they do is work from faxes. so i send the fax in with the reason i am not happy with the computer and they are supposedly supposed to email me an RMA number. well a week later i still have not received this "RMA" number, so i call and speak to the ruddest person of them all. she tells me the number, i said aren't you going to pay for the shipping. haha, um no sir it is YOUR responsibility to get the computers back to us.

wow, what a fucked up experience. never EVER will i order from this company again. and if you were smart i would stay FAR away from it as well.

knotts berry farm

this morning we went on a field trip to knotts berry farm with the cubscouts. thank god it wasn't raining and there wasn't any lightning. this wasn't your normal outing to knotts tho, no riding the rides, this was an "educational" trip. we got to see all the stuff that normal people just completely ignore in the park. the 100 year old school house, the grave yard, the bottle house, the barrel house, etc. it was actually a lot of fun and pretty educational. we did get to go on one ride, the calico mine train ride. all in all it was a fun morning trip, here are the pictures.

WOW

There has been so much going on and I have been procrastinating so much on blogging... so this will be a review. There will be no circumlocution, just the facts, ya'll. July 26th Roxy and I flew up to see some friends that live up there and a DJ Kable from Florida that was spinning there. We had alot of fun, here are the pics. Naomi, Mike, Tai, Max, me and the kids also went to the zoo. The boys have started soccer and now I have practice Tuesday-Friday, which is SO exciting. Can't wait for games. Went to see my friend Paul and his band perform at Chain Reaction, an ALL AGES club, meaning lots of 15 year olds with too much makeup, but Paul's band rocked, check them out... INVERSE OR you could add them on myspace, we all know everyone has myspace... www.myspace.com/inverse PTA junk has begun, oh joy and fucking rapture... Start my new JOB, yes, me, in about a week, looking forward to that... having a sort of small BBQ with some friends this weekend... also going to Knotts tomorrow. There ya go folks. Till next time.

inverse

last night we went to go see one of our friends bands play at the local, what i thought bar, actually turned out to be an all ages club and you know what that means, NO ALCOHOL. i didn't even realize they still had these things, i was at least twice everyone's age. it was very embarrasing, haha... never have i felt so old as i did last night. our friends band was really good tho, so that made it worth it. check them out at myspace.com/inverse
